ENVIRONMENT - DESTROYED: landscapes will be lost, special habitats damaged & good agricultural land concreted over.
TRAFFIC - CHAOS: 5000 houses means thousands more cars pouring onto local roads.
SERVICES - OVERSTRETCHED: how will local hospitals etc cope with all the extra people?

OBJECTION FORM TO: CHIEF PLANNING OFFICER NORTH HERTFORDSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL COUNCIL OFFICES GERNON ROAD LETCHWORTH SG6 3JF Ref: Planning Applications 01/01157/1 I object to the applications to build 5000 houses to the West of Stevenage because: x it is development on Greenbelt land when there are sufficient alternative sites to meet Hertfordshire's housing needs; x it is against Government and current local Council policy; x it is environmentally damaging and less sustainable than developing sites in and around existing communities; x it will have an unacceptable traffic impact on both Stevenage and North Hertfordshire.
